Prearranged Employment

I am a missionary and I would like to render community services in the Philippines. How can I do this legally?

You may secure a prearranged employment visa for missionaries under Section 9 (g) and Section 20. This visa is issued to an alien who is actively and exclusively in religious-oriented work in the Philippines.

Is it necessary to prove that I am a member of an international missionary organization?

To qualify for this visa applicant must show proof that he/she is a bonafide member of a religious or missionary institution certified by a duly authorized representative of the petitioning organization in the Philippines.

What is the validity of my 9(g) visa?

This is valid for an initial period of one (1) year except bonifide members of religious groups that have existing Memorandum of Agreements with the Bureau which provide, among others, the grant of 9g visa valid for 2 years. It may be extended for a total maximum period of ten (10) years.

How long does it take to get the said visa?

One month, provided all documents are complete.
