Extension of Stay (RBR 98-02)
- a. Extension of stay EO 408
Non-restricted nationals who are admitted without visa under EO 408 for an initial stay of twenty (21) days, may be applied and granted an extension of thirty eight (38) days in the form of Visa Waiver on or before the expiration of initial authorized stay.
- b. Extension of stay for 9(a) visa holders
Generally, holders of 9(a) visa granted an initial stay of fifty nine (59) days. Upon expiration, on good cause shown, a temporary visitor may be granted an extension of stay of not more than two (2) months for non-restricted nationals and one (1) month for restricted nationals per application. This privilege, however, is limited for a maximum extension of twelve (12) months for non-restricted nationals and six (6) months for restricted nationals per admission in the Philippines.
- c. Extension of stay for Temporary Visitors admitted under LOI 911 nd EO 191
Temporary Visitors admitted in pursuant to LOI 911 and EO 191 who were admitted without entry visa for an initial stay of seven (7) days, may apply for an extension of fourteen (14) days in the form of Visa Waiver on or before the expiration of initial authorized stay.
- d. Extension of stay for Temporary Visitor admitted as Balikbayan
Temporary Visitors admitted under RA 6768 or "Balikbayan" classification who were given an initial authorized stay on one (1) year, may be granted an extension of not more than two (2) months for non-restricted nationals and one (1) month for restricted nationals per application. As with 9(a) visa holders, this privilege is limited for a maximum extension of twelve (12) months for non-restricted nationals and six (6) months for restricted nationals per admission.

This rules shall apply to former natural-born citizens of the Philippines, as defined by the Philippine law and jurisprudence, who have lost their Philippine citizneship by reason of their naturalizatoin as citizens of a foreign country.
