BI to deport German sex pervert |

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will expel a German pedophile wanted for sex crimes in his country following his arrest in Cebu recently. Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. identified the fugitive as Michael Heeren, 32, who was arrested last July 12 by operatives of the BI fugitive search unit in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguet, Cebu City. David said Heeren is presently detained at the immigration jail in Bicutan, Taguig pending issuance of the order for his deportation by the BI board of commissioners. |

BI nabs Korean ‘gambler-cheater’ |

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of a Korean fugitive wanted by authorities in Seoul for defrauding his compatriots of more than US$8 million by cheating them in a Baccarat gambling game. Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. identified the Korean as Kim Tae Dong, 54 years old. Kim was arrested last July 5 at the Ortigas Center in Pasig City. Kim was collared by operatives of the BI fugitive search unit on the strength of a mission order that David promptly issued at the request of the Korean embassy in Manila. |

3 OFWs with fake papers barred at NAIA |

Immigration agents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recently barred from leaving three female overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) bound for Korea after they were caught carrying spurious documents. BI-Airport Operations Division (AOD) chief Lina Pelia said the passengers were intercepted last July 6 at the departure area of the NAIA 3 terminal in Pasay City. Pelia, in her report to Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. said the passengers were about to board a Cebu Pacific flight to Incheon, South Korea when they were offloaded by members of the NAIA-BI travel control and enforcement unit (TCEU). She refused to identify the names of the passengers due to a provision in the anti-human trafficking act that forbids the public disclosure of trafficking victims. |

BI to deport Japanese wanted for bank fraud |

Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents arrested a Japanese fugitive wanted for banking and financial fraud in his homeland. Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. identified the Japanese as Taketoshi Hisada, 42, who was arrested last July 1 outside the Japanese embassy along Roxas Blvd. in Pasay City. Members of the BI fugitive search unit arrested Hisada on the strength of a mission order issued by David. |

BI deports German pedophile |

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to deport a German pedophile, who is wanted for sexually abusing 17 minors in his country, after more than 13 years of hiding in the country. In a report to BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr., Immigration legal chief Arvin Santos identified the German as Gisbert Leistner, 49, who is presently detained at the immigration jail in Bicutan, Taguig City. |
