To our brothers and sisters in the Catholic Faith, a blessed and a meaningful Lenten season to all.

As we usher in our observance of the Lenten Season and celebrate our deliverance from sin by the ultimate sacrifice on the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we take this golden opportunity to be truly remorseful for all the sins of commission and omission we have committed. And as we seek the atonement of our transgressions, may we likewise find the grace to forgive those who sinned against us. During the season of Lent, and onwards, let us remove the hatred and the anger in our lives and find repentance in our hearts.

Let us likewise be very thankful for the many mercies, the countless blessings and the bountiful graces we have been showered however unworthy we may be. May our sacrifices, offerings and pious prayers henceforth unite us with God’s purpose to save mankind from sin and damnation. Let us always remember that those who share in Christ’s Crucifixion shall likewise share in his Resurrection.

In Proverbs 21:15, it is said that when justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to the evildoers. Guided by these words, may the good men and women of the Department of Justice renew their commitment to be Vanguards of Justice. May we always be under God’s care and providence always!
